Let’s talk chocolate shall we? Valentine’s Day will be here sooner than you know it, so it’s time to start taste testing homemade chocolates. Ever since the New Year I’ve been trying to eat healthier, like most us, but thinking about getting through Valentine’s Day sans chocolate just sounds awful. Though I do believe in cheat days, I wanted to put I healthy spin on chocolate treats so I wouldn’t feel too guilty. Below is a roundup of the recipes I’ll be trying this year.
Raw Choco Bits– These seriously sound amazing. They’re packed with hidden fruits and vegetables; overall a great on-the-go pick me up. Definitely a sweet treat that is good for all year round.
Healthy Chocolate Truffles– Truffles are very easy to make, require few ingredients and are quite delectable. Whether throwing a wine and chocolate party or attending a neighborhood soiree, truffles are a great gift to give and keep for yourself. These truffles are filled with dates a maple butter a great sweet and healthy combination.
Vegan Chocolate Bars– I have been waiting to make these homemade chocolate peanut butter bars for months. Not only do they look delicious but everything Erin Ireland makes is vegan and looks to die for. Follow her on snapchat for more of her recipes @erin-ireland.
Raw Chocolate Mousse– Whole Foods carries a similiar Raw Chocolate Mousse that is made of tofu but this version is made with raw cashews which sounds really intriguing. This is definitely a rich and protein packed dessert.
